Elnur Aslanov gets new government job
Elnur Aslanov, former head of the department for political analysis and information provision at the presidential office, has got a new government job.
Aslanov, 37, who was fired by President Ilham Aliyev on March 17, has been appointed as head of the department for strategic planning, investment and science at the Ministry of Communications and High Technology.
His dismissal followed media reports alleging his links to Fethullah Guel, a Turkish imam in self-exile in Pennsylvania, the U.S. He denied the claims.
Aslanov’s mother, Rabiyat Aslanova, is a senior member of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party. She heads the parliament’s human rights committee.
